Mục tiêu thiết kế cho cuộc thi là tạo nên một diện mạo mới cho Tòa nhà trung tâm Hành chính tỉnh Lạng Sơn - tỉnh biên giới phía bắc Việt Nam giáp với Trung Quốc. Bản tóm tắt bao gồm các tiêu chí thiết kế sau: Biểu tượng nhận diện địa phương và giảm thiểu mức thiêu thụ năng lượng.
Những ngọn núi trập trùng và dòng sông chảy quanh co là phần cảnh quan độc đáo của tỉnh Lạng Sơn. Khu đất được bao quanh bởi những ngọn núi và phía trước mặt là con sông lớn mang tên Kỳ Cùng. Sự phát triển đang diễn ra trên khắp Việt Nam và cuộc sống của người dân đang thay đổi mạnh mẽ. Nhưng những cảnh quan này đã không thay đổi từ quá khứ đến hiện tại và cả tương lai. Tòa nhà được thiết kế cho dự án này với thời gian sử dụng ước tính lên đến hơn 100 năm. Về lâu dài, công trình này sẽ trở thành biểu tượng của Tỉnh bởi tòa nhà được thiết kế dựa trên chính những danh lam thắng cảnh của Lạng Sơn.
Khu đất hình chữ nhật, kéo dài từ phía bắc xuống phía nam, và tòa nhà được định hướng để tránh ánh sáng mạnh từ mặt trời cũng như có nét cong mềm mại như dòng sông với dòng chảy thay đổi theo địa hình. Những lam chắn nắng phía tường ngoài làm thay đổi góc chiếu của ánh sáng mặt trời và vẽ nên hình dạng những dãy núi lên mặt đứng của tòa nhà. Mặt đứng này mô phỏng lại cảnh quan xung quanh và đồng thời cũng làm giảm được tác động của năng lượng mặt trời lên công trình. Sự gia tăng nhiệt độ từ mặt trời là nguyên nhân lớn nhất cho việc tiêu thụ năng lượng của các toà nhà ở Việt Nam. Do đó chiến lược này đã giúp làm giảm đáng kể tải năng lượng của toàn bộ tòa nhà.

This is a proposal for a design competition held to create a new Provincial Administration building in Lang Son Province, which borders China in northern Vietnam. Conditions of the brief included a design that symbolizes the local identity and a that can reduce energy consumption.
The rippling mountains and flowing rivers are part of the unique scenery of Lang Son Province. The site is surrounded by such mountains and faces a large river called the Ky Cung River. Development is taking place all over Vietnam and people's lives are changing drastically, but this landscape will not change from the past to the present and into the future. The government building designed for this project is intended to be used for more than 100 years, but over a long period of time, it will become a symbol of the province by relying on the scenic scenery of Lang Son province.
The site is a long rectangle from north to south, and the building is oriented to avoid the strong sunlight while curving like a river whose flow changes responding to the terrain. The louvers on the outer wall change angle in according to sunlight and draw a ridge-like pattern on the façade. As a result, the facade adapts with the surrounding landscape, and at the same time, it reduces the impact of solar energy. Solar heat gain is the cause of the biggest energy-consumption burden for buildings in Vietnam, so this strategy greatly reduces the energy load of the entire building

We have just made a press release about our LEED consulting services.
Our Co-Founder's Tim Middleton has been involved in Green Building projects for many years.
Eight years ago, we participated in the establishment of Vietnamese original Green Building certification “LOTUS Rating Tools”, and then have consulted with various Green Building Standards such as LEED, LOTUS and Edge, which are the leading certification standards in Vietnam.
From now on, we will develop activities not only in Vietnam but also in Japan and other Asian countries.
